Dearest Pig Brother,
It is with great sadness that we announce that this year’s Wet n Hot has been cancelled. We were hoping, against the odds, that we would be able to hold Wet n Hot this year, but alas, that has not turned out to be the case.
Various states, including California, are beginning to loosen their restrictions with the intent of flattening the curve so that the US medical system will not be overwhelmed, as it was in New York City and several other places, when so many people presented with COVID-19 simultaneously. Make no mistake: the underlying nature of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has not changed. It is as virulent and deadly as ever and there is no sign that it will prove to be a seasonal virus, like the flu. That is why it would be a totally unconscionable breach of our responsibility to one another and to society at large to hold WnH this year.
We are hopeful, as the US Center for Disease Control has stated, that there will be a vaccine “in record time.” With that in mind, the next Wet n Hot is set to take place from July 16 to July 18, 2021. The first WnH was in 1997, so next year’s Wet n Hot will mark one quarter century of the unique brand of brotherhood and unbridled, wet debauchery that we have come to know and love. We plan to make WnH25 a very special, commemorative event, and it will be even more sexually charged than usual by the fact that we must wait two years for it to happen.
We have designed the following procedures in order to make your transition to next year’s WnH as easy and equitable as possible:
If you are not a volunteer and you purchased a ticket to WnH, EventBrite will automatically refund the purchase price of your weekend pass, less applicable fees.
If you are a volunteer, your volunteer status will automatically transfer to the 2021 event unless you notify us otherwise by Emailing email@example.com or calling (619) 800-2011.
If you are staying at a resort other than CCBC, you must cancel your hotel reservation, subject to the terms and conditions that were in place when you made your reservation. You may want to book for next year’s event at this time or wait until a later date. That part is up to you.
If you are one of the lucky room lottery winners or volunteers who is staying at CCBC, your room reservation will automatically transfer to next year’s event, with your reservation starting and ending on the same days of the week as this year. If you do NOT wish your reservation to transfer to next year, please Email firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know that you will not be staying at CCBC next year. CCBC will get back to you within two days. Do not call CCBC. The resort is closed and there is no phone coverage.
Remember to cancel your airline, car, and other transportation arrangements.
We will update wetnhot.net soon to reflect the cancellation of this year’s event and next year’s dates.
We will keep you apprised of any developments as they occur.
We encourage you to network with one another through waterboys.com and to join our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/WetNHot/ , where you can network with past attendees and those who will be attending Wet n Hot 25.
Our hearts are heavy as we write this. We hope you will stay safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you next year!
Sincerely in brotherhood,
Dan and Vince
